I was having lunch with a friend this week whose irrigation system we installed in 2010. She’s never had any issues but said that her plants aren’t getting enough water. So, I asked, “did you plant new plants?” She said, “yes.” Well, that’s why!! When your irrigation system was designed, if designed properly, it was specific to meet the watering needs of the plants there when installed. Whenever you plant new plants, you should immediately (if not before) consult with your irrigation professional to see if any irrigation changes need to be made such as moving heads, changing of nozzles or even adding new sprinkler heads.
