Did you know I found on the internet that 50% of the water applied with an irrigation system was wasted.

Just wow!! That equates to a lot of money! One way to reduce wasted water particularly on sloped areas is the feature known as “Cycle and Soak.”

Cycle and Soak is the process of applying less water over several watering times. This gives the soil enough time to soak up the water before your irrigation system runs again.

Example: One particular zone of sloped turf – typically you water it 20 minutes every day. Try ‘cycle and soak’ for 7 minutes 3 times a day spaced say 5 hours apart. You will get water to where it needs to go and avoid wasted runoff.
