Short answer: Yes. Remember it is Atlanta. Our winter’s go from extremes. Mild (almost spring like) to as wicked as the NE winter’s. Although our frost line is not that of the northern most states and most irrigation systems are well below that frost line, your valves are exposed to those temperature swings. The quick swings in temperature swings from the teens to the 50s often cause such quick thawing that damage actually occurs. So yes, we recommend you winterize.
